I like to enjoy my artwork, and I hope I bring enjoyment to others through it. I find that I am happiest when I create pictures that tell a story, or which are part of a larger narrative. If I can make someone smile after viewing one of my pictures, then I am content. Even when I create an artwork according to someone else's brief, or to go with Gospel and Catechism passages, usually a sense of light-heartedness seeps through.

Colour, humour, imagination and detail are all features of my pictures. My favourite medium is ink and watercolour, although I also enjoy ink and coloured pencil - and using the drawing tablet connected to my computer for animation work.

Some of my art has been framed and exhibited in galleries; some of it can be found illustrating blog-posts; and some of it has been made into greeting cards, calendars and bookmarks. I hope that soon some of it will be found illustrating books for children of all ages; and especially 'The Platoon - Adventures in Afriberja', a middle-grade novel which I have written.

Vincent Cavanagh September 2013

Yes, this is still true in March 2019, with the only necessary addition being my work in 3D illustration via Cinema4D software.
