On the weekend of the 4-5th May, the annual Gosford Show was held. Vincent entered three pictures to the Art Show run by the Central Coast Art Society.
Not from a Paint-Out

Of the two paint-out days we could attend, last week the weather was bad, and this week when we got to the location on a clear sunny day, the boat ramp scene did not inspire the artist. So he came home to paint instead...
It's Youth Week

So it must be time for a Youth Week exhibition. This year it is being held at The Entrance Gallery, cnr Battley and Oakland Avenue, The Entrance with a lunch Thursday evening and opening hours 11am-4pm Fri 12th April till Sun 14th April. Vincent has two pictures entered.
One for Mum

Mum has a birthday, too. Her request was something floral, although painting flowers are not Vincent's favourite thing. With a small bunch of flowers to work from, this is what he came up with.
One for Dad

As is now traditional, Dad expects a Vincent original for his birthday. 'What would you like Dad?' 'Something with you in it, Son.' So Vincent had a go at a self-portrait.
Kariong Fun Festival

Today was the Kariong Community Fun Festival at Kariong High School. Part of the day was an art show, and Vincent entered 3 pictures.
Plot ideas

During the week Vincent had an opportunity to draw and paint something of his own choosing. This opportunity resulted in a scene from a possible Book 2 in his tales of Captain Ansile and crew.
Preparing for Easter

In the last week Vincent has been preparing some Easter cards. Here is the one based on John 20:26-29, where Jesus speaks specifically to St Thomas.
Inaugural Newsletter

In mid-January the first email Newsletter - to keep those interested in Vincent's process apprised on a regular basis - was sent. It will be issued 8 times a year.
Exhibition postscript

Vincent entered three paintings into the Summer Exhibition of the Central Coast Art Society (18-20 Jan). Of these, the one we were proudest of was entitled 'Me & My Nan'.
Soon it will be Christmas

In the last week or so Vincent took his initial idea for a Christmas scene and developed it further. The original idea was done with a paintbrush alone, but the developed idea has the ink work and then the paint.
A special request

A Windy Day

The weather seemed perfect for the Art Society paint-out on Tuesday, until the gusty wind was felt on arrival. As soon as an initial sketch was done and the first wash laid down, Vincent desired to head for home.

After advice from a highly respected professional creative, Vincent has been working on a story, 3000+ words so far, which he will also illustrate. Inspired by some new colours in his watercolour collection Vincent did the first proper illustration for the book.
